Competitor Training Program FAQs
The competitor training program is built on your goals and abilities — allowing you to push your training to the max and compete at your peak. And, for athletes who require accountability, this completely customisable plan includes one-on-one coaching.
Who is the competitor program for?
The competitor training program is for athletes looking to compete in the sport of fitness. It’s a customised plan encompassing all elements of fitness needed to compete including — strength, weightlifting, cardiovascular fitness and gymnastics. The goal is to develop different energy systems over the course of the competitive season, peaking athletes for competition.
It’s also for athletes who play in competitive level sports and want to improve their strength, power and overall athletic ability, and prepare for different phases and seasons.
Is the program customised to my needs?
Yes. This program is fully customised, and focus is placed on areas needing more improvement while simultaneously developing all other aspects of fitness.
You will train 4-6 days a week, and each session takes between one hour to 90 minutes. If you prefer to train multiple times a day, this can also be worked into the program. When planning sessions, we understand lifestyle and the time you have to commit to the program are key factors — that’s why we plan your sessions based on these points and your goals.
How do I start?
Take a look at our competitor program and join the 1 on 1 customised program. Once we’ve received your interest, we will be in touch to arrange your free consultation. During this discussion, we will cover your goals, current level of fitness and any limitations that may hamper your ability to perform certain movements and tasks.
From this information, we will create a plan based on monthly training cycles. Your program will arrive within 2-5 business days and be sent weekly at the beginning of each training week. Any adjustments required will be made before the release of the following week.
What equipment do I need?
For athletes in the sport of fitness, it’s advisable that you have access to equipment commonly used in the CrossFit Open and Finals — with the recommendation of additional pieces such as ergs, assault air bikes and sleds.
For competitive-level sports athletes, it’s necessary to have access to a minimum of a barbell and weight plates, squat rack, bands, bench press and dumbbells, with the recommendation for additional pieces such as bumper plates.
How will I receive my competitor program and get feedback on my performance?
Your competitor training program will be shared with you on Google Sheets. You can offer your input — noting your results and any comments for review — within the allocated cells.
You and your coach will work closely together — keeping in touch by email and text message. With these channels of communication, you can submit videos for review and ask any questions you may have. This makes sure your movements are correct and you’re continually advancing.
Am I locked into a contract?
No. The initial month is a one-off payment — allowing you to try the competitor training program first. If you decide to continue with the plan, a direct debit system will be arranged. Should you wish to cancel, you can do so at any time before the next direct debit by emailing info@dimistraining.com.
